Job Title: Intellectual Property Associate - Electrical Engineering
Job Responsibilities:
The Intellectual Property Associate at the law firm is responsible for engaging in intellectual property litigation with a focus on patent and trade secret matters. The role requires the associate to manage complex litigation cases, including competitor versus competitor disputes and cases involving patent assertion entities. The associate will be expected to conduct thorough legal research and produce high-quality legal writing to support case arguments. The position demands strong advocacy skills and the ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team. The associate will be involved in proceedings before various legal bodies, including the Eastern District of Texas, Northern District of California, and the International Trade Commission (ITC), as well as handling inter partes review proceedings before the Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the Intellectual Property Associate position must possess a bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical Engineering. Additionally, they should have two to four years of experience in handling intellectual property matters, particularly in patent and/or trade secret litigation. The role requires candidates to demonstrate excellent academic credentials, superior writing and communication skills, and a high level of motivation. Membership in the State Bar of the office location where the candidate intends to work is a mandatory requirement.
Salary Information:
The expected salary range for the Intellectual Property Associate position at the law firm is between $235,000 and $310,000. This compensation is part of a comprehensive and competitive total compensation package that the law firm offers to its attorneys and staff. The final salary within this range will depend on various job-related factors, including the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience or education, specific skills or expertise, and geographic location. Additional compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which is determined based on both firm and individual performance.
