Job Title: Associate Litigation
Job Responsibilities:
The litigation associate will be part of the Insurance Recovery & Counseling Group at the law firm's Washington, DC office. Key responsibilities include:
- Focusing on recovery/coverage matters and representing policyholders.
- Drafting pleadings, briefs, and motions in both state and federal courts.
- Engaging in discovery processes, including conducting depositions and drafting/arguing discovery motions.
- Managing multiple, time-sensitive projects efficiently.
- Collaborating effectively as part of a team.
- Taking ownership of significant projects.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates should possess 3-9 years of experience in litigation. It is essential for candidates to have substantial experience in drafting legal documents and engaging in discovery processes. Admission to the DC Bar or eligibility to apply for DC Bar admission is required. Candidates with a genuine interest or experience in focusing on recovery/coverage matters representing policyholders will be preferred.
Salary Information:
The salary range for the position of a 3-9 year Associate at the law firm is $185,000 to $265,000 annually. The actual compensation within this range will depend on various factors, including the candidate’s qualifications and experience. There is also an annual billable hours expectation of 1,850 hours, which includes up to 100 hours of approved pro bono work.
