Position Summary:
The Asbestos Attorney at the New York Office of our law firm will be responsible for managing and working up asbestos-disease cases from intake to trial. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of attorney experience, with a preference for asbestos experience. This is a full-time, exempt position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
Position Responsibilities:
- Conduct depositions of fact and expert witnesses
- Develop, send, and respond to discovery
- Communicate effectively with clients
- Research and draft motions and briefs
- Assist Supervising Attorney with case work up and motions
- Conduct client and witness interviews
- Depose witnesses and clients
- Appear in court as needed
- Assist with Plaintiff’s discovery preparation
- Return and respond to client and defense counsel communication
- Gather and analyze information from various records
- Delegate assignments to team paralegals and legal assistants
Required Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of attorney experience, preferably with asbestos experience
- Proficiency in MS Office Applications
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Self-motivated and well-organized
- Ability to problem solve and strategize
- Compassion for helping terminally sick clients
- Adaptable and responsive to client needs based on health status
- Licensed to practice Law in the State of New York (required)
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen
