Job Title: Finance Supervisor - Planning & Analysis
Job Responsibilities:
The Finance Supervisor - Planning & Analysis is responsible for overseeing financial planning, analysis, and reporting for the Information Services department. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the capital and operating budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring that timelines, task assignments, and deliverables are met.
- Overseeing financial analysis, variance reporting, lease vs buy decision making, lease reporting to Finance, and cost estimation for insurance purposes.
- Managing the capitalization of IT development costs.
- Facilitating financial reviews with management.
- Overseeing the charter and business case review and approval process.
- Ensuring the Information Services’ Delegation of Authority remains up to date.
- Overseeing invoice processing and American Express purchasing card reconciliations, ensuring expenses align with purchase orders, are properly coded, and approved.
- Providing oversight of reimbursement and chargeback processes.
- Directing the design, enhancement, and maintenance of financial reporting tools, including Microsoft Power BI.
- Developing and utilizing financial models in Microsoft Excel to support decision making and complex financial analysis.
- Overseeing training for cost center owners and staff on financial tools and reporting applications.
- Driving continuous improvement in financial planning, analysis, reporting, and invoice processing.
- Identifying and resolving financial and operational issues, ensuring alignment with best practices.
- Supervising and developing staff, including performance evaluations, training, coaching, and workflow coordination.
- Serving as the primary liaison to Finance for financial planning and invoice processing matters.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting is strongly preferred. A Certified Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis (FPAC) credential is a plus. Six Sigma or similar certification is also a plus.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of financial analysis, financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting experience is required. At least 1 year of experience designing and developing reports using Microsoft Power BI or similar tools is necessary. An extensive finance background with knowledge and application of financial concepts and principles, including accounting methods (GAAP), is essential. Experience working in and/or with an information technology organization, including a project management office, is a plus. Prior leadership or supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
