Job Title: Criminal Clerk Court Case Manager 1
Job Responsibilities:
The position of Court Case Manager 1 in the Fairbanks Criminal Division of the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. entails a variety of responsibilities focused on customer service and case management of criminal and minor offense cases. Key duties include:
- Preparing files for court, including examining new case filings for compliance with rules and statutes, and preparing files for arraignments and other hearings.
- Managing minor offense cases and opening and processing other criminal cases, such as summons and petitions to revoke probation.
- Expediting the processing of signed bench warrants and other related documents, monitoring and processing various case-related bins, and processing judgments and case closures.
- Providing customer service to court patrons, assisting customers at the public services counter and by phone, and providing information on court cases, forms, procedures, and records.
- Reviewing new cases and pleadings for compliance with court rules, entering case information into CourtView, and managing individual cash drawers for transactions related to bail, fines, and other court-imposed financial obligations.
- Preparing case files and documents for microfilming and assisting other departments as needed.
The position requires a high level of attention to detail and accuracy under time constraints to ensure adherence to court rules, statutes, policies, and procedures.
Education and Experience Information:
Minimum qualifications for the position include:
- Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate.
- One year of office clerical experience.
- Ability to keyboard at least 40 words per minute (net).
Substitutions for the above qualifications include:
- Additional office clerical work experience can substitute for the high school diploma or GED certificate on a month-for-month basis.
- Completion of 36 semester credit hours or 48 quarter credit hours of coursework from an accredited college can substitute for the year of required office clerical experience.
- Completion of an appropriate vocational training course of study, such as legal secretary, paralegal, or office skills, can substitute for the required office clerical experience on a month-for-month basis.
Salary Information:
The position offers a salary of per hour. Employees transferring from another State of Alaska agency or applicants with prior legal work experience or education in the legal field may receive consideration for advance step placement. The job classification may promote to salary range 11 after successful completion of three years of service with the court.

- The position is full-time, scheduled to work hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 . to 4:30 ., with a one-hour lunch break.
