Job Title: Practice Development Coordinator
Job Responsibilities:
- Support the Data, Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice Development team in managing practice groups, practice areas, and initiatives focusing on strategy, business development, financial management, qualitative and quantitative analysis, and marketing.
- Assist Practice Development Manager (PDM), Practice Development Director, Practice Group Leader (PGL), and other attorneys and professional staff in executing and implementing strategic priorities and business imperatives within the firm’s overall strategy.
- Contribute to the overall success of practice group performance.
- Coordinate with representatives from Business Development, Operations, Finance, Marketing, Professional Development, Legal Services, and CICC to execute practice group business development and strategic initiatives.
- Develop legal rankings submissions and track submission information annually, including related research, matter collection, and maintenance of practice group data.
- Support practice group marketing and business development efforts by coordinating, preparing, and sometimes leading the drafting of pitches, responses to RFPs, client presentations, and other deliverables in collaboration with PDM, partners, and PGLs.
- Coordinate the creation process for practice group thought partnership materials such as alerts, blogs, articles, and podcasts.
- Assist PDM in tracking sponsorships and coordinating partner participation at major industry conferences.
- Track budget spending and assist in creating annual budget requests.
- Conduct a monthly metrics and activity report process, requiring familiarity with Excel.
- Maintain updates to all appropriate practice group intranet and other internal knowledge management collateral.
- Support practice group, practice area, and initiative meetings by preparing agendas, taking notes, and driving follow-up actions to optimize outcomes.
Education and Experience Information:
- An undergraduate degree is required, with a minimum of one year of relevant experience.
- Law firm, professional services, or corporate experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong project management and organizational skills are necessary.
- Ability to identify and solve problems, work independently, and take initiative.
- Capable of compiling, reviewing, and determining logical conclusions or recommendations based on varied qualitative and quantitative data and information.
- Strong oral communication skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in writing and demonstrated ability to effectively use technology, databases, presentation, and spreadsheet software.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with people at all levels.
- Ability to establish credibility with law firm attorneys and professional staff, demonstrating the right mix of confidence, tact, and persistence.
Salary Information:
The anticipated pay range for this role is between $55,400 and $80,300 in Boston and Washington, . This range represents the firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary at the time of posting. The role is also eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including qualifications, experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
Working Conditions:
This position requires a hybrid on-site presence as an essential function of the role. Consistent and predictable on-site presence is required for ongoing business continuity, professional development, and effective collaboration with colleagues and management.
