Job Title: Information Governance Regulatory and Privacy Manager

Job Responsibilities:

- Develop goals and objectives for the Information Governance (IG) Regulatory and Privacy team in alignment with strategic planning.
- Create preliminary annual operating budgets and monitor monthly expenditures.
- Apply principles and theories of data protection, privacy, and business confidentiality to records and information management processes in coordination with Information Security.
- Evaluate headcount resource requirements and make recommendations to maximize capacity and staffing efficiency.
- Manage direct report workflow as necessary.
- Audit and track the firm's compliance with Outside Counsel Guideline agreements.
- Oversee the vendor security assessment process and manage vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with contract terms.
- Develop and implement training programs for IG Regulatory and Privacy for end users.
- Maintain documentation of IG Regulatory and Privacy operations procedures.
- Articulate obligations related to the firm's IG Policy to stakeholders.
- Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Manage operational information governance and privacy activities to enhance the firm's programs in line with ISO 27001, ISO 27701, GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable privacy regulations.
- Maintain ISO certifications and assess compliance with global privacy and security regulations.
- Monitor and communicate AI, privacy, and information management regulatory standards to ensure alignment with global regulations.
- Manage Data Subject Access Requests and oversee teams and vendors to maintain the information lifecycle.
- Implement and maintain controls to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of firm and client information.
- Assist in procuring and implementing technology to support information governance and privacy.
- Remain current in emerging technologies and trends to manage information assets.
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IG systems and tools.
- Serve as direct supervisor and mentor to direct reports, ensuring compliance with work hours and firm policies.
- Support professional development and educational opportunities for business professionals.
- Participate in hiring, performance appraisals, counseling, and other employee lifecycle events.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Education and Experience Information:

Required:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, iManage, and other firm applications after orientation.
- Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours and travel as required.
- 5+ years of applicable experience in Records & Information Management, with 3+ years in governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) processes.
- Experience with WorkSite and strong technical skills in IG management and document management systems.

Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Library Science, Records, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
- Strong project management skills and practical experience in information security.
- Experience evaluating security posture of vendors and coordinating new technology implementation.
- Experience working in a law firm or professional services organization.
- Familiarity with GARP (Generally Accepted Recordkeeping Principles).
- Credentials such as Certified Records Manager (CRM), Information Governance Professional (IGP), IAPP Certifications (CIPP/US, CIPP/E), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
- Experience leading teams and processes in data lifecycle management, including tools like Varonis, O365/M365, GSuite, NTFS permissions, DLP systems, and MS Teams configuration.
- Supervisory experience.

Salary Information:

The expected annual pay range for this full-time position is $115,000 - $170,000, dependent on geographic location, experience, and skillset. Senior level candidates may be considered for a higher salary range based on experience.
