Position Summary:

- The Researcher will be a part of the global Practice Solutions team, conducting research across various practice areas, providing insights for client work and business development efforts.
- They will also train attorneys and staff on research tools and methodology, lead research projects, and contribute to department initiatives.
- This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from White & Case offices worldwide.

Duties and Accountabilities:

- Conduct substantive research using online and print resources to support local and global practices.
- Provide competitive intelligence and background research for business and client development efforts.
- Assess research requests to ensure they meet stated needs.
- Educate attorneys and staff on research resources and methodology.
- Use current awareness tools to create newsletters and alerts for ongoing monitoring.
- Participate in evaluating and developing the research collection, including AI technologies.
- Stay updated on the legal industry through continuing professional development.
- Provide cross-training and mentoring to colleagues in other offices.
- Track billable and non-billable time spent on research services.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of five years of research experience required, with a master's degree in Library Science, law, or other relevant advanced degree preferred.
- Prior experience in law firms, investment banking, consulting, accounting, or journalism is beneficial.
- Strong research and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize large amounts of information into actionable intelligence.
- Expert knowledge of legal and corporate-focused databases and tools, such as Lexis+, Westlaw Edge, and Bloomberg Law.
- Strong data literacy skills and experience with data manipulation preferred.
- Proactive, resourceful, and able to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Client service focused with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and maintain confidentiality.
- Availability to work outside regular hours as needed.

Location and Reporting:

- This role can be based in any of White & Case's . offices.
- The Researcher will report to the Director of Research & Market Intelligence.
