Job Title: Legal Process Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

The Legal Process Engineer (LPE) serves as a strategic bridge between attorneys and cross-functional teams, orchestrating projects that enhance efficiency and elevate client service. The primary responsibilities include:

- Project Management and Process Improvement in Pricing and Budgeting:
- Shape and execute both portfolio-specific and matter-specific pricing strategies by analyzing historical data, designing smart budget models, and collaborating with Legal Data, Costing, and Reporting groups for effective client proposals.
- Act as a central link between attorneys, clients, and internal operations, translating legal services delivery into clear work statements, stakeholder analyses, and agile work-breakdown structures to ensure engagements remain on track and within budget.
- Champion project management and continuous improvement by implementing innovative fee arrangements, task-based billing plans, and workflow enhancements to monitor performance metrics and refine solutions to deliver client value.

- Marketing, Training, and Practice Group Coordination:
- Collaborate with attorneys and marketing teams to develop compelling, client-focused proposals and materials—highlighting innovative solutions, pricing strategies, and value-driven rates in RFPs, pitch decks, and other customized content.
- Advocate for firmwide adoption of pricing and innovation tools by presenting at practice-group meetings, delivering targeted training, and creating reusable resources to equip colleagues to acquire new matters and exceed client expectations.

- Client Solutions Group Coordination:
- Serve as an operational cornerstone for clients’ Legal Operations teams by developing financial tools to track budgets, monitor matters and portfolios, and coordinate seamlessly with attorneys to ensure matters progress with economic clarity, speed, and confidence.
- Transform data into opportunities by partnering with firm leaders and the Marketing & Business Development team to uncover strategic insights, craft high-impact templates, and shape client-focused pricing strategies that strengthen relationships and secure new work.

- Perform other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

Education and Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required. An advanced degree or professional certification is preferred.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in legal pricing, financial analysis, or a related field is required.
- Preferred experience or certification in project management, process improvement, or knowledge management, or a willingness to obtain such credentials.

- Proficiency in pricing software and financial modeling tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

Salary Information:

The salary range for applicants in New Jersey is $100,000 - $125,000.
