Legal Assistant I
Job Responsibilities:
The Legal Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to one or more attorneys and the Office Supervisor. Key duties include preparing correspondence and simple to moderately complex legal documents, scheduling medical appointments, proofreading documents for spelling and grammar, organizing and maintaining files, screening telephone calls and visitors, and reading and responding to mail. The role requires maintaining a close professional relationship with attorneys and managing their day-to-day activities.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Additionally, an ABA-approved paralegal certificate or a Bachelor's Degree is required. Applicants should have at least two years of experience in workers' compensation. Essential skills include strong written and oral communication, high organizational capability, proficiency in MS Word, the ability to type 50 words per minute, and a demonstrable ability to maintain confidentiality.
Salary Information:
The salary range for this position is to hourly.
