Job Summary:
As a Commercial Counsel at Company, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's commercial strategy, advising on legal and business risks, and driving the growth of key partnerships. This high-impact role involves facilitating complex commercial transactions and guiding the business in developing long-term, successful relationships with partners. Your contributions will ensure that the legal framework supports and aligns with the company's fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Commercial Contract Management:
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Product Management, Finance, and Accounting teams on the development and negotiation of various commercial contracts including sales, procurement, channel, OEM, licensing, support, services, and marketing.
- Provide legal advice on potential risks related to commercial transactions and offer creative, practical solutions to meet business goals.
- Advise on legal and strategic business matters to foster long-term relationships with key partners, supporting commercial aspects of the company's products and programs.
Process and Strategy Development:
- Assist in developing form agreements, establishing best practices, and leading training initiatives to drive continuous improvement in legal processes.
- Contribute to the development of scalable processes to support the rapid growth of the business.
Regulatory and Compliance Support:
- Stay updated on applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards that impact commercial agreements and guide the business accordingly.
- Support the company's efforts in maintaining regulatory and compliance standards across various business functions.
Dynamic Team Collaboration:
- As a valuable member of the Legal team, contribute to other legal projects and tasks that arise across the organization, expanding your scope of impact.
Education and Experience Information:
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant legal experience, with at least 5 years in an in-house legal role.
- Practical experience in complex contract negotiations, with a strong understanding of business processes and commercial contract terms.
- Knowledge of the Server/Storage/Cloud Computing industry is a plus.
- Strong written communication and influencing skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (technology, legal, finance, marketing, HR).
- High degree of professionalism, integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
- A problem-solving mindset, with the ability to ask key questions, identify issues, and develop creative solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- A flexible attitude, with the ability to drive change constructively and adapt to new challenges.
- Active membership in at least one state bar; candidates with a JD and an interest in business law are also encouraged to apply.
Salary Information:
The salary range for this position is $172,000 - $195,000. The salary offered will depend on several factors, including location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
