Job Title: Sanctions Compliance Counsel
Job Responsibilities:
The Sanctions Compliance Counsel will be an integral part of the Global Legal Compliance team, which provides essential support for the company’s innovative initiatives and products across global markets. The role involves:
- Enhancing and maintaining global corporate sanctions compliance programs, focusing on US and EU/UK sanctions laws and regulations.
- Advising and counseling stakeholders on sanctions-related issues, offering practical solutions in complex geopolitical environments.
- Conducting periodic legal compliance risk assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of compliance programs, identifying gaps, and developing remediation plans.
- Keeping abreast of evolving sanctions law and regulation trends, as well as regulatory regimes that could impact the business.
- Providing guidance and legal advice on improving and operationalizing sanctions compliance screening mechanisms.
- Advising on internal investigations relevant to compliance policies owned by the Global Legal Compliance team and collaborating with the internal investigation team as needed.
- Conducting internal compliance training and education programs in partnership with other regional compliance counsel and cross-functional stakeholders.
Education and Experience Information:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A law degree and legal qualifications in a common law jurisdiction.
- Proven compliance experience at an international law firm and in-house at a multinational company, preferably in the tech or fintech sector, with a strong emphasis on sanctions knowledge and familiarity with US/UK/EU markets.
- Deep understanding of sanctions and anti-money-laundering (AML) laws, with strong analytical, leadership, and risk assessment skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.
- High ethical standards, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn.
- Demonstrated leadership in strategy and execution, with a "roll up sleeves" mentality.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.

- Ability to manage heavy workloads and meet critical deadlines with minimal supervision.

Salary Information:
For Pay Transparency, the base salary range for this position is $213,000 - $376,200 annually. Compensation may vary outside this range based on various factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is part of the Total Package offered to employees, which may include additional discretionary bonuses/incentives and restricted stock units.
