The Research Services Manager is responsible for providing both legal and non-legal research and analysis to support the strategic priorities of Michael Best & Friedrich, a full-service law firm with over 350 lawyers and technical professionals. This hybrid role allows for remote work up to 2 days per week and is available in any of the firm's Colorado, Utah, or North Carolina offices.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with Research Services and Business Development teams to support attorney and client research needs
- Manage office resources and services
- Conduct legal and non-legal research and analysis, synthesizing information for attorneys, clients, and staff
- Monitor legislation, litigation, and patent activity to support client interests
- Provide orientation and training for attorneys, paralegals, and staff on research platforms
- Develop and promote a knowledge management culture
- Manage additional research and organizational functions as assigned

Requirements:

- Master's degree in Library and Information Studies from an ALA accredited graduate program
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role at a law firm or professional services environment
- Knowledge of research resources commonly used in large law firms
- Understanding of the broad areas of law practiced by a full-service firm
- Ability to learn new skills and adapt to changing needs and priorities
- Strong organization, multitasking, and time-management skills
- Team player with the ability to develop relationships and foster teamwork at all levels of the firm
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure
- Professional demeanor and composure in all situations
- Valid authorization to work in the .

Salary Information:

- For Colorado applicants only (as required by the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act): The annual compensation range for this position in our Colorado office is between $95,000 and $140,000. Compensation is determined based on qualifications and experience.
