Job Title: Senior Manager, Accounting Methods
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Manager, Accounting Methods at the company is responsible for optimizing federal tax accounting methods for clients, including IRC 263(A) capitalization, depreciation accounting methods, expense acceleration, and revenue deferral. The role involves working with both public and private companies to identify federal tax benefits and correct federal tax exposures. The Senior Manager will collaborate with colleagues and client leaders in various departments, including tax, accounting, finance, operations, software, manufacturing, and supply chain.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting research to identify situations requiring investigation and preparing tax implication studies and alternative action courses for clients.
- Ensuring tax compliance by helping clients meet applicable authorities and minimizing tax and reporting burdens.
- Developing and implementing solutions to provide maximum tax benefits and staying informed of new legal developments affecting tax accounting methods.
- Representing clients before tax authorities and responding to inquiries regarding tax accounting methods issues.
- Developing an understanding of technical and practical issues in tax accounting methods and identifying opportunities in other tax specializations.
- Developing strategies to advance the position of clients and the firm, and suggesting marketing approaches for client acquisition.
- Leading marketing and business development efforts, preparing proposals, and delivering presentations to clients and potential clients.
- Supervising and reviewing the work of Senior Associates and Associates, providing training, evaluating performance, and acting as a Career Advisor.
Education and Experience Information:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting, Tax, or Finance.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Juris Doctorate (.) preferred.
Experience:
- A minimum of seven years of federal tax client service experience is required.
- Experience supervising tax consulting professionals is required.
- Preferred experience includes working with accounting methods, preparing or reviewing tax provisions, and experience with corporate taxation, consolidations, and partnerships.
License/Certifications:
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent ("EA") is required.
Software:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word, is preferred.
- Experience with tax-related software and research databases such as Caseware, GoSystems, and other comparable programs is preferred.

- Strong knowledge and skills in tax accounting methods.
