Description:

A well-established and growing international law firm is looking for an Internal Communications Manager to support its expanding team. The law firm is known for combining legal and commercial excellence with modern practices. The firm’s partners handle complex business matters with a client-focused approach, emphasizing financial flexibility and innovation. The work environment is cutting-edge and tech-savvy, encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship.

The Role:

In this standalone role within the marketing team, the Internal Communications Manager will be responsible for building and developing the communications infrastructure across the law firm. The manager will ensure that the firm’s culture reflects its identity and that remote, international teams remain connected as they work towards achieving firmwide objectives. This role also involves serving as the primary liaison with external PR agencies and other partners to drive cohesive messaging and enhance the brand presence both internally and externally.

The Communications Manager will work closely with HR, Operations, and other teams to embed and communicate the firm’s people strategy and business change projects. This includes selecting and implementing an effective platform for internal communications and developing strategies for consistent and engaging messaging across all channels. Experience in leading businesses through growth and change projects across multiple jurisdictions, as well as managing relationships with external PR agencies, is highly beneficial. Knowledge or experience in scaling businesses internationally is advantageous since the firm operates across the US, UK, and Europe.

Job Responsibilities:

- Lead in establishing a communications strategy for business change and people strategy initiatives, ensuring remote, international teams feel connected and collaborate effectively during high growth.
- Manage all internal communication channels and platforms, including newsletters, apps, emails, intranet, and webinars.
- Collaborate with internal teams on firm or global team-wide communications across multiple areas such as HR, D&I, IT, and accounting.
- Work closely with external PR agencies and partners to manage and execute external communications, including media relations, press releases, and storytelling initiatives that elevate the firm’s brand presence.
- Support key internal events and get-togethers, including communications and planning.
- Understand the overlap between communications and brand, and explain communications concepts to ensure they reflect the brand.
- Design and implement a ‘town-hall’ program to provide global team members with senior leadership updates, leading and MCing these events.
- Proactively recommend improvements in work processes across the team and the firm.
- Act as the primary contact for external communications, ensuring alignment with internal narrative and supporting the firm’s strategic objectives.

Qualifications and Attributes:

- Demonstrated experience in leading strategic communications projects, preferably multi-jurisdictional.
- Approximately 6+ years of experience in a communications role, with some experience at the manager level.
- Experience working in a remote-first environment.
- Experience in vendor analysis, selection, and implementation of internal communications or intranet platforms.
- Exceptional written, oral, and presentational skills in English, with a persuasive and inspiring communication style.
- Ability to effectively influence stakeholders at various levels within the firm.
- Working knowledge of the professional services environment is advantageous but not essential, provided the candidate can work across different countries, considering cultural and communication nuances.
- Highly adept at prioritizing a busy workload with multiple stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a diverse, fast-paced, international business.
