Job Title: Public Relations Manager - (Hybrid Schedule)
Job Responsibilities:
The Public Relations Manager at the law firm is tasked with working closely with the Assistant Director of External Communications to develop and implement a strategic media and public relations plan within the United States. Key responsibilities include:
- Implementing the law firm's . PR strategy and supporting the enhancement of the firm's profile, practice groups, and partners through PR strategies and activities such as press releases, media outreach, award submissions, and PR campaigns.
- Advising firm leadership on communication strategies, messaging, and stakeholder outreach for significant firm initiatives and programs.
- Collaborating with partners, practice group chairs, office managing partners, and marketing and business development colleagues to identify industry trends, deal and case information, and newsworthy client work to boost firm visibility in key markets.
- Cultivating relationships with key media contacts and managing external PR agencies, which includes securing media placements, profiling stories, preparing partners for interviews, and guiding publication and speaking opportunities.
- Raising the firm's visibility across key industry and practice groups and . locations by working closely with dedicated marketing and business development colleagues.
- Potential future managerial responsibility for junior hires to the PR team and coordinating efforts with PR Managers and team in EMEA.
- Writing award nominations and drafting press releases for awards as needed.
- Overseeing and managing the firm's suite of PR agency partners alongside the Assistant Director of External Communications.
- Working closely with the firm's Social Media Manager to advance the firm's external visibility through social media.
- Serving as a primary internal contact/resource for legal, trade, regional, and business media.
- Developing and implementing processes to ensure all PR communications are timely, consistent, and useful, in coordination with corporate communications, business development, and regional marketing leads.
- Developing key performance indicators and metrics to measure PR output and usage annually and year-over-year.

Education and Experience Information:
Education: A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in journalism or a related field, is required.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of work experience in PR and/or media relations is required, preferably within a law firm environment. Experience in executing media outreach, PR campaigns, and promoting thought leadership is preferred.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, intense client service environment.
- Knowledge and experience with social media and technology related to PR and communications is a plus.
Other:
- Supervisory Responsibilities: The role involves responsibility for future junior members of the PR team and supervising several of the firm’s PR agencies under retainer.
- Equipment To Be Used: Personal computer and other office equipment such as telephone, calculator, fax machine, copier, scanner, etc.

- Must have strong leadership skills and the ability to demonstrate calm during periods of high volume or unusual events.
Working Conditions: The position requires working in the office at a minimum of 3 days per week, with occasional requirements to work hours in excess of the normal daily schedule. The details of the weekly schedule will be discussed further with the direct supervisor.
Salary Information:
The anticipated pay range for this position varies based on location and experience:
- Pittsburgh, Miami: $119,000 - $146,000
- Chicago, Philadelphia: $127,000 - $156,000
- New York: $140,000 - $172,000
