Law firm Willcox Savage is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join our Litigation practice in Norfolk, Virginia. We are a well-respected commercial and corporate law firm with approximately 60 attorneys, and we offer a competitive salary and benefits package.
As a Legal Assistant in our Litigation practice, you will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys with the trial process. This includes managing discovery, pleadings, hearings, trial exhibits, and court filings. You will also be responsible for preparing legal documents and correspondence, managing case documents, and maintaining files. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential in this role.
In addition to providing administrative support, you will also have the opportunity to work closely with our attorneys in preparing for hearings and trials. This may include assisting with time entry and client billing, as well as creating PowerPoint presentations. We are looking for a self-starter with a strong work ethic and the desire to learn and grow in our firm.
To be successful in this role, a Bachelor's Degree is preferred, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant in a litigation practice. Familiarity with litigation procedures is also preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and experience working in a law firm or legal environment is a plus.
