Job Title: Conflicts & Risk Analyst
Job Responsibilities:
The Conflicts & Risk Analyst at the law firm will play a pivotal role in identifying and resolving potential conflicts of interest related to new clients and matters. The responsibilities include:
- Conducting research to identify and resolve conflicts of interest for new clients and matters.
- Collaborating with Conflicts Attorneys to resolve complex conflict issues, escalating as necessary, and working with firm attorneys to understand client and matter engagements.
- Partnering with firm attorneys and Legal Executive Assistants to address conflicts needs and provide high-quality customer service.
- Leading and assisting with large and complex searches that require supervision of multiple and large data sets, ensuring timely completion even under tight deadlines.
- Managing and executing multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining organization, and responding promptly to time-sensitive emails.
- Assisting in conflict searches for marketing purposes or other requests as assigned.
- Analyzing client engagement terms and providing necessary analyses.
- Conducting due diligence reviews for financial and compliance purposes.
- Performing client and matter maintenance, collaborating with teammates to regularly update and ensure database integrity.
- Conducting searches related to sanctions on a rolling basis and providing pertinent information to other firm departments.
- Maintaining and initiating ethical screens related to confidentiality and conflicts as requested.
- Performing other related tasks as required.
Education and Experience Information:
- A is required for this position.
- A minimum of 4 years of legal conflicts experience in a high-volume environment, or equivalent experience, is necessary.
- Knowledge of US ethical rules of professional conduct as they relate to conflicts of interest is essential.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including familiarity with web-based research for conflict checking purposes (InTapp and Aderant), is required.
- Knowledge of legal search databases and accurate typing skills are necessary.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are important.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
- Strong organizational skills are essential.
- Good judgment with respect to e-mail writing, conveying the proper tone and demeanor, is important.
- Attention to detail, ability to prioritize assignments, and the ability to move quickly from one task to another are required.
- Ability to work extended hours on a short-term and limited basis to accommodate short-term activity spikes and urgent requests is necessary.
Salary Information:
The salary range for the Conflicts & Risk Analyst position is estimated to be between $65,000 and $95,000, depending on the experience level and location.
