Job Title: Corporate and Transactional Legal Assistant
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform word processing, transcribe dictation, and draft and finalize correspondence and documents.
- Maintain the filing system, including timely filing, and opening and closing files.
- Conduct internet and library searches for relevant information.
- Maintain corporate minute books and stock transfer ledgers.
- Prepare closing binders and manage post-closing work.
- Prepare real estate documents related to corporate acquisitions or transactions.
- File documents with the Secretary of State.
- Make travel arrangements for attorneys and staff.
- Compile electronic document databases.
- Reserve conference rooms and schedule client conferences.
- Manage attorney time entry, client billing, travel, and expense reimbursements.
- Assist on special projects in other practice areas as required.
- Perform other tasks as needed.
Education and Experience Information:
- Minimum of three years of experience, preferably in a mid-to-large sized law firm.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and PDF Converter is required.
- Excellent communication skills are necessary.
- Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Attention to detail, including formatting, proofreading, and grammar.
- Ability to take direction from attorneys and prioritize tasks accordingly.
- Maintain a high level of initiative and work well with others in a team environment.
