Job Title: Attorney - Aerospace & Defense Practice

Responsibilities:

- Advise clients on issues related to government and commercial contracts in the Aerospace & Defense industry
- Draft legal memoranda, bid protests, REAs, and claims
- Conduct legal research on government contracts and subcontracts, administrative law, and regulatory requirements
- Write policy articles and commentary on A&D matters

Skills and Abilities:

- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Efficient and effective legal researcher
- Proficient in the use of legal research services
- Sound and independent judgment
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to manage client relationships
- Desire to actively participate in business development

Education, Experience, and Training:

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in federal government contracts
- Experience with . export controls, including OFAC sanctions, is a plus
- Knowledge of space law is preferred
- Familiarity with FAR, DFARS, and other agency FAR supplements
- Experience with size protests, teaming agreements, JVs, mentor/protégé, subcontracting, and supply chain matters
- Experience with compliance, transactional and litigation support
- Admitted to the State Bar of Michigan or the . Bar, or eligible for admission in Maryland or Virginia
- Portable book of business is a plus
- Experience with government contracting cost issues, government and commercial IP rights, FMS, FMF, security clearances and FOCI, and CFIUS is a plus
