Law Firm Seeking Managing Paralegal for Litigation Department
Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000 (depending on experience)

Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of Paralegals and Law Clerks, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure efficiency and professional growth.
- Monitor case progress, deadlines, and filings to ensure timely and accurate completion of all litigation-related tasks.
- Review, draft, and assist in filing pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents in compliance with court rules and procedures.
- Develop and implement best practices for case workflows, document organization, and overall department efficiency.
- Work closely with the Managing Attorney and other legal team members to support litigation strategy and case execution.
- Conduct legal research as needed to assist attorneys in case preparation, litigation support, and compliance matters.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for paralegal-related inquiries, ensuring clear communication with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Provide ongoing training to paralegals and law clerks on legal procedures, case management systems, and best practices.
- Conduct regular performance reviews of paralegals, providing constructive feedback, and identifying opportunities for professional growth.
- Ensure all litigation-related work adheres to legal, ethical, and regulatory standards, reducing risk for the firm and clients.
- Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and managing additional paralegal and law clerk staff as the department grows.
- Oversee the implementation and utilization of case management software and legal technology tools to improve productivity.
- Regularly assess team performance, provide constructive feedback, and report key department metrics to the Managing Attorney.
- Develop and implement effective systems for managing litigation progress, deadlines, and workflow within the litigation team. Ensure the team’s workload is balanced and meets the needs of the attorneys.

Qualifications + Core Competencies:
- Minimum of 7+ years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in civil litigation, handling case management, drafting legal documents, coordinating discovery, and assisting with trial preparation.
- At least 3 years of experience managing a team of legal professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to delegate tasks, provide mentorship, conduct performance evaluations, and foster a collaborative and productive team environment.
- A paralegal certificate is required, an advanced degree or additional legal coursework is a plus.
- Up-to-date with current litigation practices, Minnesota and/or Wisconsin rules of civil procedure, technology, and procedural requirements. Experience in bankruptcy law and appeals is a plus.
- Recent experience working in a legal setting, with minimal gaps in employment.
- Strong ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously, track deadlines, and ensure that all litigation-related tasks are completed efficiently. Must be detail-oriented and capable of handling high-volume workloads with accuracy.
- Strong proficiency in case management software, e-discovery platforms, and legal research tools (such as Relativity, Westlaw, LexisNexis, or Clio).
- Experience with document automation software and workflow optimization tools to improve efficiency in legal drafting, contract management, and court filings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise legal documents, correspond with clients and opposing counsel, and effectively communicate legal procedures to both attorneys and non-legal professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to assess current legal processes and implement efficiency improvements, particularly through the integration of technology.
- Strong understanding of confidentiality requirements, ethical obligations, and compliance standards within a legal setting. Must ensure that the litigation department adheres to best practices in data security, client confidentiality, and professional responsibility.
