Job Summary:
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) at our national law firm will lead the firm's technology vision and execution, ensuring our technology infrastructure and systems support business objectives and maintain the highest levels of security and client confidentiality. This highly visible role requires a deep understanding of the unique technology needs and challenges within a law firm, including data security, compliance, and the evolving legal technology landscape.
Responsibilities:
- Provide vision and leadership to the CIO departments, hiring and enabling a high-performing, proactive culture.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with the firm's business objectives.
- Manage the operating and capital budgets and allocate resources effectively.
- Oversee the firm's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, telecommunications, and end-user devices.
- Direct the implementation and maintenance of key legal technology systems.
- Develop and enforce robust data security and privacy policies and procedures.
- Evaluate, select, and implement new software applications and technologies.
- Drive innovation by identifying and implementing technology solutions.
- Collaborate effectively with firm leadership, IT security and information governance team, attorneys, and staff.
- Communicate technology strategies, initiatives, and issues clearly and concisely.
Qualifications:
- At least 7 years of progressive experience in Information Technology leadership roles, with a significant portion of that experience within a law firm environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Strong executive presence and ability to understand marketplace trends.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful IT strategies in a legal setting.
- Deep understanding of the specific technology needs and challenges of law firms.
- Strong knowledge of data security and data privacy best practices, compliance regulations, and cybersecurity principles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
