Job Title: Deputy Attorney General, Criminal Prosecution Division
Job Responsibilities:
The Deputy Attorney General in the Criminal Prosecution Division represents the State of Nevada in criminal prosecution proceedings within state courts. The position involves significant litigation duties, including:
- Drafting legal pleadings and preparing cases for trial.
- Interviewing witnesses and collaborating with law enforcement officers.
- Conducting preliminary hearings, grand jury proceedings, and both bench and jury trials.
- Prosecuting cases related to failure to maintain workers' compensation coverage by individuals and/or employers.
- Prosecuting individuals filing false claims to obtain workers' compensation benefits and false claims to obtain insurance benefits under NRS and NRS .
Education and Experience Information:
- Graduation from an accredited law school is required.
- Must be licensed in Nevada or eligible for limited practice certification.
- A valid state driver's license is required at the time of appointment.
- Preference is given to candidates with current or recent criminal prosecution experience.
- A working knowledge of federal and state criminal statutes, rules of evidence, local court rules, and criminal procedure is advantageous.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute timelines without supervision.
- Professionalism, organization, self-motivation, punctuality, and leadership skills are essential.
- Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person, virtually, and over the telephone.

Salary Information:
- Gross Salary: Up to $135, Employee/Employer Paid or $115, Employer Paid, depending on experience (DOE).

This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is an unclassified position entitled to standard state benefits. It serves at the will of the Attorney General, and employment is contingent upon a successful background check. The position's duty station is Las Vegas, with occasional travel, including out-of-state.
