Job Title: Criminal Deputy City Attorney
Job Responsibilities:
A Criminal Deputy City Attorney is tasked with representing the organization in all matters heard in and appealed from the North Las Vegas Municipal Court. The role involves assisting the Chief Deputy Attorney and requires the candidate to be adept in managing a heavy caseload independently. Key responsibilities include conducting trials, preparing legal documents, and handling various criminal procedures with integrity and professionalism. The candidate must be responsive, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities with minimal supervision. This role also requires flexibility to respond to urgent court matters during weekends, holidays, and after-hours, as well as participation in a mandatory rotating schedule to cover weekend court sessions.
Education and Experience Information:
The minimum educational requirement for this position is a Juris Doctorate or equivalent (undergraduate degree and LLB) from an accredited law school. Additionally, the candidate must possess a certificate of admission to the State Bar of Nevada at the time of application. A valid state driver’s license is also required, with the ability to maintain a satisfactory motor record and obtain an appropriate Nevada state driver’s license within the required time frame.
Salary Information:
The salary range for the Criminal Deputy City Attorney position is $90,000 to $135, per year. The starting salary is dependent on the candidate's education, qualifications, and experience. The position is full-time with an indefinite job duration and requires 0-10% travel. The work schedule is 4 days per week, 9 hours per day, totaling a 36-hour workweek, from Monday through Thursday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
