Job Title: Workers' Compensation Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The Workers' Compensation Paralegal at the law firm is responsible for supporting attorneys in the Orange County office, with some duties possibly extending to the Los Angeles office. The paralegal will engage in various administrative and legal tasks that include:
- Performing administrative duties such as proofreading and editing materials to ensure extreme accuracy and clarity.
- Accurately typing at a speed of 65-75 words per minute.
- Ensuring the accuracy of naming conventions for cases and proper saving of all electronic files related to assigned matters, with experience in iManage being a plus.
- Exercising knowledge of legal documents and terminology.
- Assisting with calendar calls and deposition scheduling as needed.
- Managing e-filing (EAMS filing), creating QME/AME packages, and preparing legal documents and correspondence.
- Scheduling depositions and examinations, as well as managing attorney calendars.
- Handling all types of discovery requests, responses to opposing counsel, motions, calendaring, and docketing deadlines, with knowledge of EAMS being advantageous.
Education and Experience Information:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in Workers' Compensation Defense practice is preferred.
- An ABA Approved Paralegal Certificate is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is necessary.
- Knowledge of billing and adherence to client guidelines is important.
- The candidate must exhibit exceptional organizational skills and maintain a positive attitude.
Salary Information:
The position offers an hourly salary range of to , with the potential for bonuses. Actual pay may be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
