Description
A prestigious law firm, established in 1920 and known for its extensive network of more than 700 lawyers across 25 offices in the United States, is seeking a Lateral Intake Manager. The role involves overseeing the intake process for lateral attorney candidates, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience from initial contact through onboarding. The Lateral Intake Manager is accountable for meeting performance metrics, process development and design, ongoing audit of procedures, software management, employee training and development, and overall supervision of the Lateral Team and their processes. This position demands exceptional leadership, organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage a team of four lateral team members, including Conflicts, Background, and New Business Intake employees.
- Ensure ongoing training for all team members.
- Conduct analyses of all lateral requests for the law firm and ensure potential conflicts have been identified and cleared in their pre-hire onboarding.
- Review reports compiled by the Conflicts team for accuracy and compliance with law firm standards.
- Compile conflict reports from the law firm's conflicts database for attorneys and conflicts counsel to review and clear.
- Interface directly with law firm employees, partners, associates, legal administrative assistants, Practice Group Chairs, and General Counsel.
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously and pivot between urgent requests and projects while supervising the team.
- Lead and assist with large and complex special projects requiring the review of large amounts of data.
- Ensure accurate records are maintained for potential audits.
- Responsible for recruiting, hiring, new employee training, and development.
- Analyze information and perform research.
- Manage third-party software/platform relationships and ensure that the team is up to date on software best practices and updates.
- Ensure accurate reporting of data from the conflicts database to other departments, including finance, records, and IT.
- Conduct regular audits of the conflicts database.
- Complete the day-to-day tasks for entering requests in the intake system in preparation for a conflict search (includes lateral and regular conflict searches).
- Process the daily workflow for new law firm clients and matters into the firm's systems (conflicts, records management, and accounting/financial databases).
- Provide accurate information based on new client and existing client conflict searches.
- Coordinate the pre-onboarding and onboarding process for all lateral attorneys and other lateral employees.
- Prepare intake forms for onboarding of lateral attorneys' clients/matters.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information
- Minimum of 5 years of related Conflicts/Intake experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of supervisory/management experience required.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Paralegal Certification preferred, but not required.
- Master's or Juris Doctor preferred, but not required.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience and working knowledge with Conflicts/New Business Intake database tools such as Elite, Intapp, 3E, Aderant, or similar software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Accurate typing skills.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Familiarity with legal terminology and business practices.
