Job Title: Assistant District Attorney
Job Responsibilities:
- Review incoming law enforcement reports to assess the viability of filing criminal charges.
- Evaluate assigned cases for prosecutorial merit and explore possible plea negotiations.
- Conduct research and draft legal motions as needed.
- File appropriate written motions when required.
- Handle all assigned court appearances competently, expeditiously, and professionally.
- Prepare cases thoroughly for trial.
- Assist other law enforcement agencies in their efforts.
- Continually develop, maintain, and improve all necessary skills to perform daily prosecutorial duties effectively.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school is required.
- Admission to and good standing with the Oklahoma Bar Association is mandatory.
- While experience is not required, prior prosecution experience is preferred.
Salary Information:
- Salary is commensurate with experience.
