Job Title: Tax Experienced Manager, International Tax Services
Job Responsibilities:
1. Tax Consulting:
- Advise clients on tax implications related to their business objectives.
- Recommend alternative courses of action and identify compliance methods with tax regulations.
- Develop ideas, structures, and transactions focusing on international matters.
- Interpret existing and new laws to maximize client benefits and identify expert resources.
- Coordinate with foreign offices and develop work plans for tax consulting projects.
- Identify financial reporting and cash tax impact of consulting engagements.
- Apply knowledge of transfer pricing and foreign tax regimes.
- Coordinate compliance/reporting requirements with client service teams.
- Manage client expectations.
2. Tax Specialization:
- Apply in-depth understanding of international tax issues and opportunities.
- Organize and conduct internal CPE training sessions in specialized areas.
- Develop a knowledge base and network with professionals in foreign jurisdictions.
3. Research:
- Identify complex situations requiring research and outline issues and sources.
- Analyze researched facts and sources before composing a detailed report.
- Prepare Written Tax Advice (WTA) and consult with National Tax Office.
4. Tax Compliance:
- Manage client engagements and conduct detailed reviews of international tax aspects.
- Apply knowledge of . tax compliance related to international operations and transactions.
- Understand and apply company policies, standards, and manuals on tax accounting matters.
- Review and coordinate tax accounting matters related to international activities.
5. Tax Controversy:
- Represent clients before the IRS with guidance from senior tax professionals.
6. ASC 740-10:
- Apply standards, company policies, and Tax Quality Manual requirements.
- Review international aspects of tax provisions and coordinate with colleagues in . jurisdictions.
- Train others in technical tax, ASC740, software, research, and other tax matters.
7. Other duties as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervise the workload of International Tax Senior Associates, Associates, and Interns.
- Review work product and ensure technical development.
- Provide periodic performance feedback and evaluations.
- Act as a mentor to International Tax Senior Associates, Associates, and Interns.
Education and Experience Information:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required, with a focus in Accounting preferred.
- ., LLM, and/or MST/MBT preferred.
Experience:
- Six or more years of experience in corporate tax, international taxation, legal professional services, or equivalent experience required.
- Experience in International Tax required.
- Prior experience supervising tax professionals on a project or engagement basis required.
License/Certifications:
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) required.
Software:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.
- Experience utilizing RIA, BNA, Lexis Nexis, and/or Westlaw preferred.
