Job Title: Remote Paralegal (Insurance Defense)
Job Responsibilities:
The role of a Remote Paralegal in the Insurance Defense department at the law firm involves a variety of tasks that are crucial to the management and success of legal cases. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing draft discovery documents and discovery responses.
- Preparing subpoenas and ensuring their proper execution.
- Procuring and following up on medical records requests to support case development.
- Conducting investigative background checks on parties involved in cases.
- Performing social media research to gather relevant information for cases.
- Corresponding with expert witnesses to coordinate their involvement and gather testimony.
- Performing other paralegal duties as required to support attorneys and the legal team.
Education and Experience Information:
The position requires a minimum of five years of experience in insurance defense, emphasizing the need for a candidate with a strong background in this area of law. Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft Word, is essential. Additionally, candidates must be well-versed in the South Carolina Civil Rules of Procedure. Excellent communication, typing, computer, and interpersonal skills are necessary, along with a professional appearance and the ability to work cooperatively with a diverse group of professionals.
Salary Information:
The position offers a salary range of $50,000 to $70,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
