Overview:
• The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking candidates for the position of Child Support Officer II-III in the Child Support Division.
• This is a full-time, regular position with a standard work week of 40 hours.

Responsibilities:
• Conduct detailed investigations to locate absent parents, establish paternity, and obtain court orders for financial support and health care coverage for children.
• Negotiate lump sum payments and out-of-court settlements with noncustodial parents.
• Monitor child support cases and refer delinquent cases for enforcement actions.
• Document all case actions using appropriate agency tools and maintain accurate virtual files.
• Review cases for eligibility for closure and attend court as needed.
• Research case information on the computer and stay up-to-date on child support policies and procedures.
• Explain program policies, procedures, and regulations to customers and respond to inquiries and complaints.
• Serve as a Notary Public and perform related work as assigned.
• Maintain relevant knowledge necessary to perform essential job functions and comply with all agency policies and procedures.
• Attend work regularly and ensure security and confidentiality of sensitive information.

Qualifications:
• Minimum education required: High school diploma or equivalent for Child Support Officer II position, Bachelor's degree for Child Support Officer III position.
• Preferred education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Minimum experience required: One (1) year for Child Support Officer III position.
• Preferred experience: One (1) year for Child Support Officer III position.
• Language skills: Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak Spanish.
• Skills: Interviewing, negotiating, using a personal computer for word-processing and data entry/retrieval, basic mathematical computations, prioritizing, meeting deadlines, effective oral and written communication, exercising sound judgment and decision making.
• Abilities: Receive and respond positively to constructive feedback, work cooperatively with others, provide excellent customer service, work in person at assigned location, arrange for personal transportation for business-related travel, work more than 40 hours as needed and in compliance with the FLSA, lift and relocate 30 lbs., travel up to 25%, type 35 words per minute.
