Job Title: Associate Attorney
Job Responsibilities:
- Court Appearances: The Associate Attorney is responsible for preparing, appearing on time, and managing court appearances that are within a reasonable travel distance. This requires ensuring timely and reliable attendance at the designated courthouse, which may necessitate overnight travel and driving.
- Court Coverage Placements: The Associate Attorney must review and request coverage for court calls where personal appearance is not possible. This includes attaching necessary documents and orders for the attorney’s appearance and ensuring the requested coverage results are complete.
- Mid Litigation Motions and Responses: The Associate Attorney may be required to draft, review, and file necessary motions during litigation.
- Trials and Arbitrations: Preparation for trials and arbitrations is required, which may involve overnight stays in distant counties.
- Communications: The Associate Attorney will communicate with consumers, their employers, and their attorneys to resolve accounts and suits as necessary.
Education and Experience Information:
- The candidate must be licensed to practice law in the State of Oregon. Additional licensing in other states such as IA, MO, KS, IL, NY, NE, ID, CA, WA, AK, HI, NV is welcomed.
- The candidate should be comfortable appearing in court and have the ability to arrive on time consistently using personal transportation.
- Travel is required, with reimbursement provided in accordance with IRS mileage rates and other approved travel expenses.
- The role requires multi-tasking and strong verbal and written communication skills due to a high-volume caseload.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is mandatory.
