Job Title: Legal Assistant, OAG

Job Responsibilities:
The Legal Assistant will provide essential support to multiple attorneys and paralegals within the Civil Litigation and Constitutional Defense Division at the organization. This division is responsible for handling cases that span across various facets of State government. The primary duties of the Legal Assistant entail the following:

- Creating, formatting, and proofreading memoranda, letters, and pleadings for both federal and state courts.
- Scheduling meetings and maintaining effective communication with the public, clients, and the courts.
- Creating and maintaining electronic case files to ensure the accuracy and accessibility of legal documents.
- Managing incoming and outgoing mail and phone calls efficiently.
- Assisting visitors and performing other related duties as assigned.
- Occasionally working beyond standard office hours as required to meet the demands of the position.

Education and Experience Information:
Minimum Qualifications:
- An enthusiasm for public service is essential.
- The candidate must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team is required.
- Excellent grammar and proofreading skills are a must.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel is required.
- A willingness and ability to learn new programs and processes, as well as cross-train in other support staff positions, is necessary.
- The ability to handle a fast-paced work environment is critical.
- A minimum of three years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and training, is required.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with PACER and the iCourt filing system is preferred.
- Familiarity with legal case management systems is also preferred.

Salary Information:
The salary for the Legal Assistant position depends on the candidate's experience, with a starting rate of per hour.
