Job Title: Litigation/Trial Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The Litigation/Trial Paralegal will play a pivotal role in supporting the legal team at the law firm. The responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the preparation of pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, subpoenas, and trial-related documents.
- Conducting document searches pertinent to deposition examinations and creating document binders.
- Developing search terms for document production purposes.
- Conducting privilege, relevancy, and confidentiality reviews.
- Preparing deposition summaries, discovery responses, indices for medical records, and analyzing medical billing records.
- Assembling trial binders, drafting jury questionnaires, jury instructions, witness lists, exhibit lists, and other pre-trial documents.
- Performing both factual and legal research.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the Litigation/Trial Paralegal position must meet the following educational and experience requirements:
- Paralegal certification is required.
- A minimum of four years of experience in litigation as a paralegal.
- Must satisfy the requirements of Bus. & Prof. Code section 6450(c).
- Experience in civil litigation practice and procedure in both State and Federal courts is essential.
Skills Requirements:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong analytical, drafting, and proofreading skills.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and manage several projects simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Familiarity with e-discovery software such as Relativity.
- Ability to maintain poise and presence while assisting at trial.
- Strong time management and project management skills.
- Experience with Lexis.
- Proficiency in computer programs including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.
- Willingness and ability to learn and perform new tasks as needed.
Salary Information:
The base salary range for the Litigation/Trial Paralegal position is $82, to $95,, commensurate with experience.
