Job Title: Director of Billing & Client Accounts

Job Responsibilities:

- Plan, organize, lead, and direct the activities of the client/matter financial set-up, billing, e-billing, and collections teams.
- Collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders, including finance colleagues in pricing, accounting operations, financial operations, and financial reporting.
- Work with other administrative colleagues such as practice management, innovation, project management, and information technology to enhance end-to-end processes and improve user experience.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and internal controls, and identify, recommend, and implement improvements to these areas.
- Embrace a growth mindset through the review and assessment of current client financial intake, billing, e-billing, and collection systems and processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Identify, recommend, implement, and promote adoption of new best-in-class systems and processes that increase efficiency, user experience, and financial results.
- Plan, organize, and develop the client/matter financial intake role to increase data accuracy and streamline the end-to-end revenue cycle.
- Analyze client accounts to proactively mitigate potential client payment issues, reducing bad debt and write-downs/write-offs to maximize cash flow while maintaining strong client relations.
- Develop reports to identify trends and opportunities to accelerate the client revenue cycle.
- Complete special projects as requested.

Education and Experience Information:

- A Bachelor’s Degree is required.
- Ten or more years of progressive law firm leadership experience in operations such as client financial intake, billing, e-billing, and collections.
- Strong understanding of client arrangements, legal billing, collections, and related software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; advanced technical skills using Excel are required.
- Experience with Aderant, Prebill Manager, BillBlast, E-Billing, and/or SQL systems is preferred.
- Excellent persuasive verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Strong ability to manage time, organize, and prioritize multiple competing tasks to set and achieve goals.
- A proactive, inquisitive, and analytical problem solver with good business sense, able to exercise independent judgment in selecting methods and techniques for resolution, and a proven track record of improvements in areas of responsibility.
- Proven ability to promote a positive work environment, lead, direct, and develop a strong team through motivation and professional development to maintain a cohesive group.
- Ability to define and measure metrics for individual performance to promote professional development, productivity, and excellent customer service with efficiency and effectiveness.

Salary Information:

The salary range for this position is $220,000 - $240,000 in Chicago, Minneapolis, Los Angeles, and Washington . The offered salary will be determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, work location, individual skill set, previous/applicable experience, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
