Are you an experienced legal secretary with a professional demeanor, excellent communication skills, and knowledge of e-Filing procedures? Join our team at a prestigious law firm as a Family Law Legal Secretary.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Maintain knowledge of projects, cases, and clients within the family law practice area
- Provide excellent customer service by answering calls, emails, and greeting clients
- Manage calendars for assigned attorney(s)
- E-File with state and federal courts
- Schedule hearings, depositions, and meetings
- Produce documentation in accordance with attorney's requirements
- Proofread documents for formatting, spelling, and grammatical errors
- Operate independently to complete complex assignments accurately and timely
- Produce a high volume of work assignments in a timely manner
- Review and follow up on client deadlines and calendar appointments
- Interact with clients as needed
- Open and screen incoming mail and prepare documents for mailing
- Track, organize, and process reimbursements, invoices, and check requests
- Assist other staff as needed
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment
- Strong communication skills and understanding of legal terminology
- Ability to read, analyze, and understand legal documents
- Comfortable working under pressure and determining work priorities
- Typing speed of 60 wpm and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Ability to multi-task and maintain a regular work schedule

- Two or more years of secretarial experience in a law firm
