The Litigation Technology Specialist is tasked with providing comprehensive technology support to the law firm's litigation teams. The role is pivotal in ensuring that legal professionals have access to the necessary tools and data required for success in both discovery and trial stages. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting attorneys and litigation teams with technology tools during discovery and trial preparation, utilizing software such as Trial Director, OnCue, and other presentation tools.
- Providing hands-on trial support, which encompasses setting up courtroom equipment and managing digital exhibit presentations.
- Managing and coordinating the technical aspects of e-discovery. This includes data processing, loading, and production within platforms like Relativity.
- Ensuring all litigation technology systems are operational and ready for use, while troubleshooting and resolving any technical issues promptly.
- Collaborating with attorneys and case teams to comprehend specific trial needs and delivering tailored technical support accordingly.
- Training legal teams on the use of litigation support tools and best practices.
- Liaising with vendors and consultants to meet litigation requirements.
- Maintaining documentation and chain of custody records for evidentiary materials.
- Traveling to various offices and court houses to support or coordinate trial technology needs.
Education and Experience Information:
The position requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in legal technology, information systems, or a related field. Candidates should have:
- At least 3 years of experience in litigation support or legal technology within a law firm or legal department.
- Proficiency with trial presentation software such as Trial Director and OnCue, as well as familiarity with document review tools like Relativity.
- A strong understanding of the litigation process and the e-discovery lifecycle.
Preferred qualifications include experience supporting high-volume or high-profile trials, working with legal teams on complex litigation matters, and familiarity with other legal technologies like Opus 2, CaseMap, Sanction, or Everlaw.
