We are currently seeking an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney I to join our team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of the Prosecutor and Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, performing a wide range of prosecutorial duties in District, Family, Probate, Juvenile, Circuit, and Appellate Courts.

Key Responsibilities:
- Research and prepare cases for trial, motion, sentencing, and other court proceedings in various courts
- Appear in court for arraignments, motions, pre-trials, trials, and sentencing
- Manage a docket of misdemeanor and felony cases
- Prosecute juvenile criminal cases and child abuse and neglect cases
- Draft and amend child abuse and neglect petitions
- Mediate juvenile criminal and child abuse and neglect cases
- Manage less complex felony cases in Circuit Court
- Interview and inform witnesses, clients, victims, and other parties involved in cases
- Coordinate with other agencies, such as law enforcement and social services
- Keep supervisors informed of case status and high-profile cases
- Provide legal advice to county officials, departments, employees, and law enforcement officers
- Other duties as directed

Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate Degree
- One year of experience in the practice of law
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan and a member in good standing with the Michigan Bar Association
- Thorough knowledge of State of Michigan criminal and case law and courtroom procedures
- Considerable knowledge of legal research, evidence review and interpretation, witness interviewing, document production, and courtroom presentation
- Skill in data analysis and report preparation
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to establish effective working relationships and use good judgment and initiative
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and legal research software
