Law Firm is seeking a junior to mid-level patent litigation associate to join the Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Group in our Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, or Washington, DC offices.
Salary Range: $235,000 - $365,000, commensurate with experience
Hours-based bonus available
Ideal applicants have minimum of 2 years experience in PTAB/IPR, patent litigation in district court, and/or ITC proceedings
Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or similar field preferred
Familiarity with source code preferred
Excellent academic credentials and references required
Must be currently licensed, or eligible to become licensed, to practice law in applicable jurisdiction(s)
The Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Group at Law Firm is made up of approximately 100 attorneys who advise clients along the life cycle of their most important assets—patents, copyrights, trademarks, rights of publicity, trade secrets, and related issues. Our Patent Litigation team combines proven trial and appellate experience, strategic approaches, and technological knowledge to enforce and defend our clients' patent rights in cutting edge technology areas. Our clients include well-known companies such as Samsung, Adobe, Boston Scientific Corporation, Charter, Crocs, Google, Tesla, and Nike.
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in patent litigation matters, including PTAB/IPR, district court, and/or ITC proceedings
- Provide strategic advice to clients regarding their patent rights and potential litigation risks
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents
- Communicate with clients and opposing counsel to negotiate settlements and/or prepare for trial
- Attend hearings and trials, and assist with trial preparation
- Collaborate with other attorneys and staff on case strategy and management
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in patent litigation, particularly in PTAB/IPR, district court, and/or ITC proceedings
- Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or similar field
- Familiarity with source code preferred
- Excellent academic credentials and references
- Currently licensed, or eligible to become licensed, to practice law in applicable jurisdiction(s)
