JOB SUMMARY:
The Legal Assistant position involves the preparation of Ohio Foreclosure Judgment Packages for attorney review and subsequent court filing. Key responsibilities include drafting documents promptly, corresponding with involved parties, maintaining both paper and electronic files, utilizing and maintaining various client systems, and handling incoming calls from diverse sources. The role requires a strong commitment to customer service. Candidates must be able to work effectively both as part of a team and independently, demonstrating a self-driven work ethic.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review account histories and draft, prepare, and format Complaints according to client or county specifics, with a preference for candidates with Ohio Foreclosure experience.
- Prepare all documents within the law firm, client, and court timeframes with high accuracy.
- Manage and work effectively on assigned files.
- Ensure that client, law firm, and investor deadlines are met without backlog.
- Consistently and accurately update the firm’s internal case management system as well as all client systems.
- Provide regular and timely client status updates and continual follow-up on outstanding documents or services.
- Deliver exceptional customer service at every level of client interaction.
- Develop and maintain congenial relationships with business associates and clients.
- Support attorneys in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed.
- Work on projects as directed by a supervisor or manager.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job does not require supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:
- A high school degree is required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Possess a good attitude and willingness to adapt to change.
- Strong communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Must be a motivated self-starter capable of multitasking.
- Ability to prioritize issues easily and handle a high volume of work.

- High-level proficiency in the MS Office suite.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The role requires frequent sitting, talking, and hearing. Occasionally, standing, walking, handling or feeling with hands, reaching with arms, and stooping, kneeling, or crouching are required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment involves normal office conditions with a quiet to moderate noise level.
