**Job Responsibilities**
The Legal Support Specialist plays a crucial role in providing high-level legal support within the litigation team at a law firm. The responsibilities include:
- Coordinating the creation, editing, proofreading, and processing of various legal documents such as correspondence, memoranda, closing documents, and pleadings as requested by the assigned attorneys.
- Maintaining legal files in both paper and electronic formats, organizing and filing documents systematically.
- Updating case information, scanning, and organizing legal files to ensure all documentation is current and accessible.
- Managing document deliveries and tracking final executed documentation to ensure all legal processes are completed efficiently.
- Receiving and evaluating telephone calls for supported attorneys, fielding calls, and conveying messages as necessary to ensure effective communication.
- Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and liaisons to facilitate smooth legal proceedings and client interactions.
- Collaborating with Administrative Support Coordinators, Paralegals, and other legal support team members to enhance team efficiency and productivity.
- Utilizing firm resources effectively to achieve desired results and improve service delivery.
- Assisting with overflow work and other special projects as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
**Education and Experience Information**
- A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is preferred for this position.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience within a law firm is required, indicating a strong background in legal support functions.
**Skills & Competencies**
- Proficiency in handling administrative tasks, including attorney time entry, travel arrangements, and processing invoices and expenses.
