Job Title: Senior Manager, Partnership Accounting
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Manager, Partnership Accounting at the law firm is responsible for managing all financial aspects related to each partner's ownership of the firm. This includes ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of distribution payments. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the accounting of individual partner’s capital accounts in compliance with the Partnership Agreement.
- Managing the annual capital funding process in collaboration with the Treasury Team and coordinating with lenders for capital loans for partners.
- Ensuring accuracy in partners’ scheduled distributions and deductions by conducting thorough reviews before processing payments and collaborating with various departments to ensure timely deductions and special payments.
- Collaborating with Controller, Tax, Treasury, and others to prepare analyses and recommend appropriate true-up gross distribution amounts throughout the year and communicating these amounts to partners in a timely manner.
- Reviewing wire requests for distributions paid to partners with bank accounts outside the . or payments made from outside the .
- Providing the Treasury with an annual forecast of monthly and true-up distributions with periodic updates.
- Overseeing the preparation and timely distribution of individual cash flow schedules for all partners.
- Reviewing and providing input on drafts of Offer Letters, Assignment Letters, and Transition Letters concerning compensation and capital matters, and ensuring adherence to the terms.
- Preparing the annual budget for expenses related to Partnership Accounting.
- Overseeing the annual Points Process by maintaining the spreadsheet used by the Points Committee, ensuring data integrity and functionality.
- Monitoring, tracking, and documenting all changes to allocated points, providing updates to firm management as needed.
- Calculating each partner’s final annual share of firm net income according to the partnership agreement and ensuring timely dissemination to other teams.
- Providing the Tax Team with required data for quarterly earnings statements and annual K-1 schedules.
- Supporting Deloitte audit staff with required schedules and support for annual mid-year and final financial audits.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting and financial analyses is necessary.
- Expertise in Excel, including advanced proficiency in creating and maintaining effective spreadsheets and Excel VBA macros.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy, correctness, and completeness of information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present complex ideas clearly and succinctly.
- Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A high client service ethic with a track record of delivering exemplary client satisfaction.
- Strong team collaboration skills with the ability to work with diverse individuals at all organization levels.
Salary Information:
The salary range for the Senior Manager, Partnership Accounting position in San Francisco is between $164,000 and $200,000. Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus, overtime as applicable, health/welfare benefits, retirement contributions, paid holidays, and PTO. The salary range may vary based on factors such as local market data, an applicant's skills and experience, and certain degrees, licensing, and certifications.
