Job Responsibilities:
The Paralegal at the law firm is responsible for a variety of tasks primarily focused on litigation in both state and federal courts. The duties include:
- Preparing indices and timelines from client documents and interviews.
- Reviewing and analyzing business records and financial documents.
- Cite-checking and preparing legal documents.
- Managing discovery and trial preparation.
- Maintaining familiarity with court rules and procedures.
- Participating in regulatory receiverships or monitorships as ordered by the court, which involves:
- Immediate access to defendants’ business premises.
- Identifying and securing business records, electronic data, emails, physical documents, and assets.
- Participating in interviews.
- Assisting in the investigation and preparation of reports for the supervising court.
Candidates are expected to be flexible, quick-thinking, and able to conduct themselves professionally. They should work collaboratively as part of a team and also independently with minimal supervision as required by the assignment.
Education and Experience Information:
- A valid Paralegal Certificate is required.
- The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in communicating effectively with clients, governmental agencies, and harmed consumers.
- Candidates must possess the ability to meet deadlines, have excellent attention to detail, and experience with court rules and cite checking (Bluebook).
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential, along with a positive attitude and the ability to communicate effectively with partners.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience is required.
Salary Information:
- The compensation for this position ranges from $75,000 to $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
