Job Title: Business Immigration Paralegal I
Job Responsibilities:
The Business Immigration Paralegal I at the law firm is tasked with assisting in the facilitation of the international transfer of skilled employees for clients, which include domestic and international corporations and businesses. Under the supervision of an attorney, the paralegal is responsible for the preparation and filing of petitions and visa applications. The duties include compiling and analyzing case facts, drafting correspondence, maintaining and organizing client documentation, and communicating directly with multiple attorneys. The role is situated in a fast-paced business immigration practice, requiring a strong ability to multi-task and work independently toward team goals.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for this position must have a degree from an accredited college or university and/or a paralegal certification. Alternatively, a minimum of two years of experience as a business immigration paralegal can suffice in lieu of a degree or certification. The candidate should possess knowledge of the Nonimmigrant Visa (NIV) process. Strong writing skills, excellent attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to work independently are essential. Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, INSZoom, and document management systems is required.
Salary Information:
The expected salary range for this position in California is between $55,600 and $83,400, in accordance with California’s amended labor code as stated in Senate Bill 1162. The median salary is approximately $70,000 per year.
