Job Title: Business Intelligence Developer
Job Responsibilities:
Development
- Develop expertise in all law firm application SQL table structures and relationships, becoming an expert in data analysis and addressing data integrity and reconciliation issues.
- Develop specifications for enhancements, customizations, and integrations as requested by management and business groups.
- Gain familiarity with various development tools utilized by the law firm.
- Execute customizations and integrations, performing quality assurance and regression testing of all modifications to law firm applications in test and production environments.
- Maintain detailed records and document procedures, assumptions, workflows, methodologies, and information sources used during analytical tasks.
- Demonstrate strong TSQL development skills, including writing stored procedures, triggers, data modeling, and ETL.
- Possess strong hands-on experience using Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or greater suite of development tools, including SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, and SSIS Catalog.
- Understand SQL Server security and management tools.
- Manage full life cycle development, including design, development, implementation, documentation, training, and on-going support for enterprise-level applications.
- Use integrated development environments and version control systems such as Visual Studio and SQL Server Management Studio.
Support/Maintenance
- Develop expertise in law firm integration tools, design integration logic, and provide second-level support to resolve issues with integrations.
- Conduct day-to-day support and technical administration of systems, reports, integrations, and associated modules.
- Monitor the performance of integration and automation, taking corrective action to identify opportunities to optimize and improve system performance.
- Escalate unresolved problems to the infrastructure and management team and promptly communicate with affected users.
Project Management
- Participate and contribute to internal and external/vendor project teams for initiatives at various levels.
- Assume project management responsibilities for selected projects.
- Review specifications for completeness and accuracy.
- Create, track, and update all project tasks, continually informing the department and management of the project's status.
- Work with management and users to evaluate and clarify requests.
- Perform ongoing analysis of departmental development needs and make recommendations for the efficient use of law firm applications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- 5 years of experience working and supporting SQL applications in an IT environment.
- A 4-year degree in an IT-related field is highly preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience developing reports using SSRS.
- 3-5 years of experience using ETL tools such as SSIS.
- 3-5 years of experience using visual analytical tools such as Power BI.
Salary Information:
The annualized salary range for this position is $105,000 to $115,000. Actual pay may be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also offers bonuses and a full benefits package.
