Job Title: Senior Litigation Counsel, Enforcement Services

Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Litigation Counsel operates with minimal supervision to manage and litigate both non-disciplinary and disciplinary proceedings nationwide. These proceedings are typically filed with the Office of Hearing Officers (OHO), and the counsel is responsible for briefing and arguing appeals before the National Adjudicatory Council (NAC). Key responsibilities include:

- Representing the organization as either a first or second chair in complex disciplinary proceedings related to violations of federal securities laws, the organization's rules, and other self-regulatory organization (SRO) rules.
- Acting as the first chair in non-disciplinary hearings and litigation, including expedited proceedings and decisions regarding statutory disqualification, membership applications, and exemptions/waivers.
- Handling appeals before the National Adjudicatory Council, including drafting appellate briefs and arguing appeals.
- Providing guidance and advice to the Member Supervision and Member Application Program on issues like statutory disqualification and member application denials.
- Drafting, reviewing, and finalizing legal documents such as complaints, motions, exhibit and witness lists, and pre- and post-hearing briefs.
- Actively participating and coaching in litigations, advising on litigation strategy, effective use of evidence, and conducting direct and cross-examinations of witnesses.
- Overseeing pre-hearing tasks, ensuring timely production of discovery, and conducting witness preparation.
- Conducting litigation consults, providing advice on charging issues, legal theories, litigation strategy, and evidentiary issues.
- Engaging in legal research and preparing advocacy documents.
- Negotiating settlements with respondents and their attorneys and preparing Offers of Settlement.
- Collaborating effectively with staff across various departments within the organization.

Other Responsibilities:
- Working on special projects as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:
- Candidates must possess a law degree and be appropriately licensed to practice law in all applicable jurisdictions based on relevant licensing requirements.
- A minimum of ten years of litigation experience is required, with demonstrated ability to manage and try complex securities cases.
- Comprehensive knowledge of trial techniques, Federal Rules of Evidence, and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure is required.
- Superior litigation, oral, and written communication skills are essential.

Salary Information:
The salary range for this position varies based on location and other factors, including the candidate’s skill set, level of experience, and education. The salary ranges are as follows:

- California: Minimum $150,600, Maximum $305,000
- Colorado, Hawaii, Minnesota, Vermont: Minimum $131,100, Maximum $254,000
- Illinois: Minimum $144,000, Maximum $279,500
- Jersey City, NJ/New York City, NY: Minimum $157,300, Maximum $305,000
- Massachusetts/Washington: Minimum $131,100, Maximum $292,300
- Maryland/Washington, DC: Minimum $150,600, Maximum $292,300
- New Jersey State: Minimum $144,000, Maximum $305,000
- New York State: Minimum $131,100, Maximum $305,000

Candidates can expect salary offers ranging from the minimum to the mid-point of the salary range. The organization provides full pay ranges to allow candidates to consider their growth potential.

Work Conditions:
