Job Title: Business Intelligence Analyst
Job Responsibilities:
The Business Intelligence Analyst at the law firm is responsible for advancing client insights and enhancing the understanding of key markets where the firm operates. The role involves discovering new business opportunities, fostering new client relationships, and supporting overall marketing efforts. Key responsibilities include:
- Utilizing research and competitive intelligence tools such as Bloomberg Law, Westlaw, CNS, and D&B Hoovers to gather, summarize, and synthesize relevant information about current and prospective clients, industries, practices, and competitor law firms.
- Preparing the Business Development team and firm attorneys for client and prospect meetings by providing data-driven reports and presentations, and summarizing key insights and findings.
- Staying informed about the legal industry and client industries, and proactively recommending ways to leverage this information effectively.
- Monitoring and enhancing client segmentation, pipeline tracking, and opportunity management using CRM tools to generate opportunity scorecards.
- Collecting, organizing, and maintaining detailed matter descriptions, jurisdictional expertise, and practice nuances for an experience database.
- Supporting the Marketing/Business Development team and attorneys in evaluating new business opportunities and providing recommendations on the value and ROI of such opportunities, including:
- RFPs/Pitches
- Firm events
- Outside awards/nominee analysis
- Third-party legal rankings
- Speaking engagements
- Tickets and client entertainment
- Sponsorships and charitable contributions
- Professional dues and memberships
- Other relevant data as determined
Education and Experience Information:
Qualified applicants for the Business Intelligence Analyst position should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in business, economics, library, information science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a legal or professional services-related field, with familiarity with CRM databases common to the legal industry. Experience with Intapp DealCloud is preferred, but experience with other legal industry CRM systems is acceptable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex research into clear, actionable summaries.
- A detail-oriented approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Motivation, initiative, organizational skills, and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong technical skills and experience with marketing technology platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
