Job Responsibilities:
As a Paralegal at the law firm, you will serve as both the gatekeeper of client experiences and the project manager of their cases. You will collaborate closely with your assigned Quarterback Attorney and Paralegal Manager to ensure the efficient progression of cases and uphold the firm's commitment to exceptional service. A key aspect of this role is developing strong relationships with clients by actively listening to their needs, providing case updates, following up diligently, and scheduling attorney/client calls to foster trust through professionalism and empathy.
Your performance as a Paralegal will be evaluated based on three primary key performance indicators (KPIs): Closing, Client Happiness, and Minimizing Case Timeframe. You will be responsible for gathering pertinent information relevant to cases from various parties, including clients, witnesses, and adjusters, and maintaining up-to-date records in Needles.
As a "project manager," you will delegate and assign tasks to support staff and manage the timeline for completing these duties. Additionally, you will be responsible for calendaring and monitoring important dates such as statutes of limitations and deadlines, both internal and external.
Your specific duties will include:
- Managing a personal caseload of 55-65 cases.
- Assisting with case planning and development.
- Reviewing documents such as police reports, witness statements, medical records, bills, and expert opinions.
- Interviewing clients regarding accident details and injuries.
- Preparing legal correspondence.
- Reviewing files assigned by your manager to ensure accuracy and timeliness, resolving conflicts as needed.
- Finalizing pending tasks for files requiring special attention on a case-by-case basis.
- Assisting in file transfers.
- Completing assigned projects from your manager via checklist items TDO.
- Checking in with 2 or 3 employees for case closeout goals.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent is preferred.
- A Paralegal certificate or other relevant legal education is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of paralegal experience is preferred, with pre-litigation and litigation experience not necessary but beneficial. Experience in legal assistance, customer service, administrative support, or call centers is also preferred.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to handle high-volume caseloads, including tasks such as collecting medical records and handling property damage claims.
- Drafting medical summaries, demands, settlement forms, and preparing disbursement sheets.
- Familiarity with lien issues and balance verification practices.
- Preferred but not necessary skills include drafting complaints, pleadings, disclosures, discovery, knowledge of service of process procedures, docketing systems, and E-filing (State and Federal).
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multi-task and set priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Notary Public certification is preferred.
- Ability to understand complex legal issues and cases and communicate about them clearly and accurately.
