Job Title: Senior Legal Assistant
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide full litigation support to multiple attorneys on the Workers’ Compensation Team.
- Prepare, e-file, and serve correspondence, briefs, motions, pleadings, discovery, deposition notices, and other documents using appropriate software, ensuring compliance with Pennsylvania and occasionally federal court systems.
- Manage large volumes of documents including receipt and issuance for cases involving extensive document exchanges.
- Schedule and maintain attorney calendars based on court notifications and case management deadlines, including depositions and other significant events.
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation as needed.
- Review and process daily incoming mail.
- Maintain electronic legal files in accordance with office protocols.
- Support attorneys with invoice reviews, payment requests, and check processing.
- Interact professionally with attorneys, clients, opposing counsel, teammates, claim partners, and court personnel.
- Provide general office support such as document matching, production, CD duplication, PDF creation and compilation, and file conversion.
Education and Experience Information:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant in a paperless Pennsylvania insurance defense law office or corporate legal department.
- Experience handling high-exposure, document-intensive files.
- Familiarity with the PA Workers’ Compensation process, including use of WCAIS.
- Proven ability to manage a high-volume litigation caseload, including document production, discovery, Outlook calendar maintenance, and coordination with experts.
- Strong working knowledge of Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation court systems and applicable federal court systems.
- Proficiency with paperless case management software.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, Teams).
- Excellent multi-tasking, organizational, and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, especially in prioritizing tasks for multiple attorneys.
- Proficiency in handling electronic document formats such as TIF, PDF, and JPG.
- Willingness to attend and participate in periodic virtual department meetings, with occasional in-person attendance as required.
Salary Information:
The annualized base pay range for this role is $57,200 - $85,800. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency, and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is one component of the total compensation package, which may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
Additional Information:
- This is a fully remote position requiring occasional travel to the Pennsylvania office for yearly in-office visits or as needed at the time of trial (PA Resident preferred).
