The salary range for this position is $45,000-$60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
Job Title: Paralegal
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of legal experience required, and 4+ years in legal experience preferred
Department: Legal Admin
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in paralegal or legal studies or other related discipline is preferred
Paralegal certification from ABA-approves program is preferred
Strong command of the English language, including excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation, form and style
Detail-oriented and ability to create, compose, proof and edit correspondence
Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressured environment and maintain case/trial deadlines
Excellent problem-solving skills and team mindset
Essential Functions:
Drafting documents, filing motions, interviewing clients and preparing contracts or retainers
Keep progression of case on track in preparation for trials, hearings and depositions
Drafting, editing and maintaining witness and exhibit lists
Assist attorneys in daily case management
Interact with other paralegals to assist with heavy workload or coverage
Prepare, review, edit, proofread and file a variety of documents
Review, cull and summarize document production
Communicate with and prepare documents for experts
Organize and maintain case files, attorney notebooks, databases, spreadsheets and other materials
Administratively support firm business development, if needed
Developing, responding or objecting to interrogatories or request to admit and summarizing interrogatories and admissions received
Drafting and editing pleadings; includes reviewing and answering complaints, counterclaims and third-party complaints, motions to dismiss or strike jurisdictional motions and research for pleadings
Responsibilities:
Support multiple attorneys in the law firm
Manage and implement projects with a high degree of responsibility
Maintain case files, attorney notebooks, databases, spreadsheets and other materials
Assist with heavy workload or coverage for other paralegals
