Job Responsibilities:
The role of Senior Counsel, Procurement Contracts involves providing comprehensive legal support to internal clients, particularly in relation to supplier contracts, disputes, and compliance matters. The position requires an attorney to work closely with the Global Procurement group and other corporate function teams. Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting and negotiating complex enterprise and cross-divisional procurement contracts for various services, such as contract labor, employee benefits, and software.
- Counseling procurement managers on the risks and legal issues associated with direct and indirect goods and services in a multinational context.
- Providing timely legal advice on supplier contracts, contract law, disputes, and regulatory and compliance matters.
- Drafting, negotiating agreements, and suggesting improvements to contract templates and workflow processes.
- Offering practical guidance concerning contractors and third-party service providers, including banks, consulting firms, and IT service providers.
- Supervising supplier-related disputes, terminations, bankruptcies, and other matters, and coordinating with specialized counsel as necessary.
- Collaborating with in-house counsel colleagues in foreign jurisdictions and supporting enterprise technology-focused procurement counsel colleagues when needed.
- Participating in corporate or division-wide initiatives and special projects.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the Senior Counsel, Procurement Contracts position should possess the following qualifications:
- A law degree from a respected law school with an excellent academic record.
- Proven legal experience in practicing procurement and technology law, preferably in a corporate law department or for multinational corporations.
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations is essential, and an IAPP certification is recommended.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, along with proven contract drafting and negotiating skills.
